Florida Strawberry Festival
A Sweet Festival
February in Florida not only brings baseball spring training, but something even sweeter Âstrawberries. It all culminates with the Florida Strawberry Festival in Plant City Saturday February 28 through March 10. Running from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. every day, the Florida Strawberry Festival is ranked as one of the nation's top fairs, with over 500,000 attending over its eleven day run. While there's ample opportunity to taste and enjoy strawberries from around Florida, there's plenty more to see and do. The highlight for many guests is the Belle City Midway and its multiple carnival rides, games, and concessions. Our littlest festival goers will enjoy the Kiddie Korral, complete with age appropriate rides, pig races, kiddie shows, and a baby parade.
Strawberries, Music, and More
There will also be plenty of live entertainment on the Wish Farms Soundstage at the Florida Strawberry Festival. Headliners include Foreigner, Casting Crowns, Caroline Kole, as well as country super stars Alan Jackson, Dwight Yoakam, Lorrie Morgan & Pam Tillis, Martina McBride, 50s and 60s legend Bobby Vinton, and more. Plenty of free musical acts will be performing throughout the day too. The festival dates back to 1930 when the Plant City Lions Club decided to create an event that would celebrate the area's strawberry industry, with a focus on harvest time. Plant City is just ten miles east of Tampa off of Interstate 4. Simply take the Thonotosassa Rd. (Exit 19, State Route 566) and turn right off the ramp. Head straight onto Lemon Street and take that to Oak Avenue. Turn right and head two blocks down to the Florida Strawberry Festival. For more information, head to flstrawberryfestival.com.
